iPhone Overview - Pros and Cons

While it’s true that the Apple iPhone debuted impressively last Friday night amid much fanfare and anticipation from the masses, it also seems to have brought along some dissappointments as well. Now, do go thinking that we’re looking to bash the iPhone, we just want to let our readers know what others have been saying since getting a hold of the coveted device. However, before we get ahead of ourselves let’s take a look at the product with a quick overview.

iPhone combines three products — a revolutionary mobile phone, a widescreen iPod with touch controls, and a breakthrough Internet communications device with desktop-class email, web browsing, maps, and searching — into one small and lightweight handheld device. iPhone also introduces an entirely new user interface based on a large multi-touch display and pioneering new software, letting you control everything with just your fingers. So it ushers in an era of software power and sophistication never before seen in a mobile device, completely redefining what you can do on a mobile phone.

We applaude the people at Apple for once again coming up with another exciting and innovating product. The only major stumbling blocks that we see with the product are price and availabilty. Even though the iPhone carries a hefty price tag (starting at $499 USD), most Apple retail locations sold out before the end of the first weekend that the product was launched leaving many out in the cold. However, shortly after going on sale, the brand new iPhones started popping up on eBay with an average price of around $1000 USD. Now, don’t be quick to blame eBay sellers for this either. The principles of supply and demand can often be harsh on the consumer, but prices really are driven by consumer needs and wants.

Consumers have also raised some concerns over the speed at which the Internet access moves as well as having to get used to the touch screen. Some have even gone as far as to say that the glare on the screen makes the iPhone almost impossible to use effectively in bright sunlight. We don’t believe this to be true and found that the iPhone lived up to most of our expectations.

Remember, even if you’re not in the market for an iPhone, Apple sells an entire catalog of quality products and you can always Compare The Best Prices On The iPhone at Where2LookOnline.com!
